Photography always has a warm-up phase. At first, I overthink; adjust settings, change angles, look without really seeing yet. Then something shifts, and the camera starts leading the mind.
You stop forcing the image and begin following instinct instead. A reflection in a shop window. A pose between movements. Light bouncing off an old vinyl sleeve. Suddenly, Manchester starts speaking; and all you can do is respond.

Not because of perfection. Not because of expensive gear. But because photography makes me present; textures, energy, timing, personality. Sometimes the image reveals itself before you fully understand why you're taking it.
Aware. Collaborative. Present. The energy flowed naturally because trust was already there. Directions became conversations instead of commands. That's when creativity becomes exciting again; not forced, not overthought, just moving.
Not just clothing; identity, memory, attitude, culture. Especially in Manchester, where old vinyl stores, side streets, cafés and clothing shops all feel connected to the people moving through them. Everybody is saying something without speaking.

We missed the bus and shot a film instead. A slow walk through Manchester; reflections, side streets, the way someone stands starts telling a story.
